Ich selbst mag noch gar nicht so weit denken, aber bei dieser Familie ist es schon soweit: die Kinder sind alle mit der Schule fertig, aus dem Haus, und studieren sogar in anderen Ländern! (*Schauder*) Was gibt es also Schöneres, als die selten gewordene gemeinsame Zeit mit einer Familien-Fotosession zu verewigen? Das Ortszentrum von Rüschlikon und der wunderschöne Zürichsee boten auch im Winter eine fantastische Kulisse. In den Worten dieser Mama, über die ich mich sehr gefreut habe:

„Nina hat die Essenz unserer Familie so wunderschön eingefangen. Als ich die Fotos sah, musste ich fast weinen, sie sind unbezahlbar und ein solcher Schatz für unsere Familie! Unsere Kinder sind jetzt alle junge Erwachsene. Dies ist ein kostbarer und flüchtiger Moment, den wir jetzt auf wunderchöne Weise für immer festgehalten haben. Ich wünschte nur, ich hätte es früher gemacht! Ich kann Nina gar nicht genug empfehlen.“

This family has already reached a point in life that I currently don’t even dare to think about: the kids have all finished school, left the house, and are even studying in different countries! (*shiver…*) So when the whole family gets together, what could be better than to capture this now rare occasion during a family photo-session?! The picturesque center of Rüschlikon and the beautiful Lake Zurich made for a wonderful backdrop even in winter. In the words of this mom, which made me very happy:

Hortensien sind meine absoluten Lieblingsblumen – drinnen liebe ich Schneeball-Hortensien in der Vase, und in unserem Garten liebe ich diese Rispen-Hortensien, die so wundervoll und lange blühen und ein wenig Sommer in den Herbst hinein retten. Diese Schönheit ist natürlich auch eine super Kulisse für tolle Portraits! Da ist selbst meine sonst inzwischen eher ‚foto-muffelige‘ Jüngste gern mit mir und meiner Kamera nach draussen gekommen. Und ich durfte sogar mit einem speziellen Objektiv und mit ‚free-lensing‘ (dabei hält man das Objektiv lose in einem Winkel vor die Kamera, so dass nur ein Teil des Bildes im Fokus, und der Rest verträumt unscharf ist) experimentieren. ;)

Hydrangeas are my favourite flowers – indoors I love Bigleaf Hydrangeas in a vase, outdoors I love the gorgeous Panicle Hydrangeas in our garden, which bloom so beautifully and for quite long, so they carry a bit of summer over into autumn. This beauty is obviously also a great background for portraits! And in this case, even my normally rather photo-resistant youngest was happy to oblige when I asked her to come out with me to play. And she even allowed me to play and experiment with a special lens and with ‚free-lensing‘ (holding the lens in front of the camera at an angle, so that only parts of the image are in focus, and the rest is dreamily blurred) ;)

Seit einem Jahr wohnen wir nun bereits wieder in Deutschland, und bisher hatte ich noch keinen einzigen Blog post geschrieben… Nun ist es aber wirklich an der Zeit, den Blog aus seinem Jahrhundertschlaf zu erwecken! Und diese Familiensession, die ich heute mit Euch teilen möchte, ist perfekt dafür – denn sie beinhaltet alles, was mir beim Fotografieren von Familien wichtig ist: viel Spass und Lachen, viel Kuscheln, und viele niedliche Details, an die wir uns später mal so gern und ein wenig wehmütig zurückerinnern…

We have been back in Germany for a year now, and I have yet to write my first Blog post… It really is time to bring this Blog back to life, it’s been a while! ;) And today I have the perfect family session for the occasion – it has all the elements that are important to me when photographing families: lots of fun and laughter, many cuddles, and a lot of cute little details that will later be remembered fondly (and a little wistfully)…

This view just doesn’t get old! Saying good-bye to friends on the other hand… At least I get to help them create some memories of their time here in Shanghai with a beautiful family photography session!

I can’t believe I never posted some more images of this gorgeous couple and their beautiful Beloved session! When their 10th anniversary was coming up, they decided to do something special – to put on their original wedding gown and tux, and take the time out to focus on each other, with me capturing some special memories for them. We even recreated their first dance: a tango to the White Stripe’s ‚Seven Nation Army‘ – how cool is that?!
