This morning I spent some time with one of my favourite client-families – and if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll have seen them many times before – for a family photography session at their new home. I was very happy to also meet grandma for the first time today, who is currently visiting from Denmark! Here’s just a little sneak peek – and proof that sometimes the prettiest light can be in the staircase! ;) Not to worry though, we took plenty of gorgeous photos throughout the rest of the house as well…
I spent a lovely morning in Singapore’s Botanic Gardens with these guys! Despite the very early start – just after sunrise – the kids were full of energy, ideas (‚Can I pose in front of these flowers?‘) and laughter, and we had a really fun session! Rising early is definitely worth it!
This gorgeous little baby girl was very calm throughout almost the whole session, and simply enjoyed being held and lovingly adored by her proud parents. When towards the end of the session, she woke up a bit more and started to cry, all it took were some tunes from Mom’s cello or Dad on the piano, and immediately she calmed down again. The love for music obviously runs in the family!
“Through the blur, I wondered if I was alone or if other parents felt the same way I did – that everything involving our children was painful in some way. The emotions, whether they were joy, sorrow, love or pride, were so deep and sharp that in the end they left you raw, exposed and yes, in pain. The human heart was not designed to beat outside the human body and yet, each child represented just that – a parent’s heart bared, beating forever outside its chest.”

A quick sneak peek from this morning’s newborn session:
This gorgeous little girl is so, so loved!
And just look at the expression on her siblings‘ faces in that last image… they simply adore her!
It would be an understatement to say that I’m a little bit behind in blogging my photo sessions… This one was a fun family photography session at one of my favourite locations in Singapore – Haji Lane. Some fun props brought by mum, an eager and talented little model, and together a loving family – all in all a wonderful morning! And ever since my older daughter saw some of the images, she and I share the desire of getting our hands on a pair of silver Doc Martens… well, two pairs actually! ;)
After a long pause (due mainly to moving house, and then traveling pretty much all summer), I’m happy to finally join in the blog circle ‚Moments that matter‘ again this month.
While in Germany a few weeks back, I did a belated ‚birthday shoot‘ with Maxi. She loves to wear her gum boots and splash around in water, so we went down to the river for some „fishing“. There was only a stone attached to the string, but Maxi totally expected to catch some fish and was a bit disappointed when she had no such luck. Ever since watching the movie ‚Ballerina‘ on the flight over to Europe, Maxi is obsessed with ballet and insisted on also bringing what she calls her ‚ballerina dress‘ along to the river – so of course we had to do a few shots with the dress too!
Make sure you follow the circle to see some amazing photography – next up is the talented Rachel of MilkyArt.
Wow, it’s been a while since my last blog post! I’m finally back in Singapore after a long summer break in Europe, and my first session after the break was this lovely maternity session in East Coast Park. I love how mom is positively glowing, dad’s loving look, and how they are kind of framed by their climbing children in the background! Yes, soon the parents will be outnumbered by the kids… not much longer now! ;)
One, two, three, wheeeee!
And the fun is even greater if your big brother tries to catch your feet…
