Manale holds Women’s Circles in Zurich – protected spaces where women can show up exactly as they are. Her whole brand comes down to one word: safety.

And that was precisely the challenge: how do you photograph a protected space without breaking it?

The concept: the space leads, the camera follows

We staged nothing. The circle simply happened – real women, real conversations – and I was the one moving, not them. Discreet enough not to break the space. Present enough not to miss a moment.

Manale: “Every woman there felt so seen and safe. We could be ourselves – without faking the smiles, without faking a pose. Nina was so discreet and yet so present. That made all the difference for all of us.”

The circles happen in person – but Manale also works with clients online. So we planned images for that side of her work too: her in conversation on screen, her workspace, the quiet setup behind the connection. Different setting, same warmth.

The preparation: a Pinterest board instead of guesswork

“I’m not a photographer – I have no idea what looks good,” Manale told me before the session. She doesn’t need to: that’s what the process is for. Together we built a Pinterest board that defined her visual language before the camera ever came out – so on the day, we never ran out of ideas.

Just as important is what we didn’t do: no louder, no bolder, no “more”. Her brand is called safety – so her images were allowed to be quiet.

Manale: “She never pushed or pressured me to do more or be more. It was really my brand — and she respected that.”

In the end, Manale couldn’t choose – so she upgraded her package and took all of the images. Today they live on her website and across her social media:

Herzwelten — worlds of the heart — is the brand Angelika built around two things she has devoted herself to: yoga and photography. Not as separate pursuits that happen to share a website, but as two expressions of the same underlying truth: that life is richer when we learn to be truly present within it.

When she reached out for her personal branding session, she was in the process of building her new website — a space that finally brought both worlds together. The imagery needed to do the same: honour the full scope of who she is.

Because Angelika’s two worlds are so distinct — in feeling, in movement, in location — we photographed them separately. This post is the first part: the yoga chapter, shot at her favourite place to think. The photography chapter will follow in a second post.

Angelika has lived in different parts of the world. Those years — the movement, the way a life across places shapes how you see and feel — are woven into the fabric of her brand Herzwelten. The name itself carries that sense of plural worlds, of a heart formed by more than one landscape.

We wanted the images to reflect that. Not through sweeping gestures, but through considered detail: a ‘globe ball’, a stack of well-loved travel guides, a heart-shaped cushion. Objects that don’t need explaining — that speak quietly but clearly.

For this part of the session, Angelika chose a beautiful corner of nature close to her home — a place she returns to when she needs to breathe and come back to herself. Not a location scouted for its light or its backdrop. A place she actually loves.

There is something that happens when someone is photographed somewhere they genuinely love. A kind of ease settles in. The images that result don’t look like brand photographs — they look like someone being themselves.

The yoga images from this part of the session capture exactly what Angelika’s teaching is about: the kind of stillness that only comes when someone is somewhere they truly belong. At the same time, they show her playfulness – she currently mainly teaches Kid’s Yoga in schools.
